Hello Marilyn, It is with pleasure that we do this little testimonial for you. Even though we both live in Canberra we decided on the Gold Coast as our wedding venue. After surfing the web we found Marilyn’s website and there was just something about the site that made the decision for us pretty easy. What a great choice we made. Marilyn made us feel welcome and comfortable from the first time we met in her home. Nothing was too much trouble for her and all the arrangements were simple and straight forward. At least that is the way Marilyn made it feel. Most of our interaction from then on was over the phone or via email right up until our rehearsal for our special day, but again nothing was too much trouble. On our wedding day Marilyn even made sure she knew what colours the girls in our wedding party were wearing so that she made sure she was dressed to match. It is the little things that count. Even though the weather was not our best friend on the day, Marilyn took it all in her stride and never let it affect her professional attitude. The plus side was the rain just before the ceremony made us move from the beach to inside the surf club. Our guests thought this was a much better option as everyone was able to hear and see what was going on the whole time. Given our wedding was the second time for both of us the memory of this day will last forever. We especially loved the sand ceremony where our two blended families were able to create a special long lasting bond. A SPECIAL THANK YOU! We chose Marilyn as our celebrant after briefly looking on the internet for a suitable person to marry us on 3rd September 2010.  Our choice to go with her was initially based on her website, she seemed lovely even from her photos and we liked that she offered different types of ceremonies including sand ceremonies, which we didn't really know anything about but liked the idea of. We had a rough idea of what we wanted and we certainly didn't want a "traditional" wedding, we wanted to have vows which reflected our personalities and desires and to leave the guests inspired (not bored! Like so many weddings can leave you feeling). We met with Marilyn at her home, with our children after a morning at the beach and she was so welcoming to all of us, she even let our children have a swim in her pool so we could get along with business and they could have fun!!  We discussed what we wanted, Marilyn told us what she offered and gave us access to her website which we found to be extremely helpful with an abundance of resources and links which we used entirely to plan our ceremony.  Marilyn was always there to help and to answer questions when we got confused or stressed!  We found her to be professional, down to earth, very experienced and above all a beautiful person who obviously gets a lot of pleasure from her work. 
The ceremony was perfect, all thanks to Marilyn, and the guests were so impressed with the sand ceremony and the fact that we included our two boys aged 4 and 9 which we originally hadn't thought was really possible beyond the fact that one was the ring bearer and the other was a groomsman!  Marilyn suggested ideas and the resources helped to tie everything together so that we were uniting not only as a couple but as a family unit. It was a beautiful, unforgettable and absolutely perfect ceremony, thank you so so so very much Marilyn, without you it would have been virtually impossible and I know it would not have been any where near as memorable for us and our guests!

You must send to Marilyn Verschuure your authorised marriage celebrant a Notice of Intended Marriage. Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form It needs to be completed (please download from link above) and witnessed by an authorised body.This notice must be signed in the presence of any of the following:
(a) if a party signs the notice in Australia - an authorized celebrant, a Commissioner for Declarations under the Statutory Declarations Act 1959, a justice of the peace, a barrister or solicitor, a legally qualified medical practitioner, or a member of the Australian Federal Police or the police force of a State or Territory.You will need to bring your Birth Certificate or extracts, Divorce or Death Certificate/Decree Absolute with you to the meeting prior to the marriage ceremony. Please note: Justice of the Peace authorised photocopies are not acceptable by law.
This Notice of Intended Marriage NOIM form needs to be lodged with me no later than 1 month & 1 day prior and no earlier than 18mths to the date of your wedding. Once you have completed the forms and had them witnessed by a Justice of the Peace you need to post me the original NOIM form along with copies of the Birth Certificates together with Divorce and/or Death Certificates, which ever is appropriate if you have been married before. I must sight the original documents prior to the Wedding to legally marry you.
Two witnesses to your marriage who are 18 years or over are a necessary legal requirement to marry in Australia. I can mostly provide the witnesses for a fee for their time.
