Unity Sand Ceremony
The Unity Sand Ceremony is known all over the world for its beauty and sanctity. Couples add this ceremony to their weddings as an alternative to the unity candle ceremony because it so elegantly captures the meaning of their two lives becoming one. And it creates a lasting keepsake of that special day. It is especially suited to a beach or outdoor wedding.

Using different coloured sands, the bride and groom each take turns filling a Unity Vase as they recite their chosen vows. Parentscan participate also if you choose to. Just as the mixed grains of sand
can never be separated, so too will the couple be
joined together in marriage/commitment and never separated. The sand colours can be coordinated with your home décor, chosen based on colours you love personally or for any other special reason that is meaningful to you. At the end of the ceremony, the vase is taken home and sits atop a shelf, a table or a mantle, beautifully symbolizing the start of your new life together.

Melinda David & Riley chose a Sand Ceremony to celebrate to celebrate their marriage and their union as a family at their Mermaid Waters home on the Central Gold Coast.

Testimonial Melinda & David
My new husband and I can highly recommend Marilyn as a celebrant for anyone who wants a ceremony filled with originality and that personal touch which made our day so beautiful.
Marilyn guided us through, giving us suggestions from her years of experience which was really helpful because I really had no idea where to start. She was always available to answer any questions I had and was so open to what we wanted for our wedding.
Our day was perfect, the ceremony was everything I had ever wanted, thankyou Marilyn. Melinda Budek

Testimonial Rebecca & Kim
When Kim and I decided to set a date for our wedding, I thought the first thing to do was to find a marriage celebrant. I “Googled” Marriage celebrants on the Gold Coast and very quickly came upon Marilyn’s website “Marry Me Marilyn”. That was it for us, we thought what a great website, very informative and we found just what we needed. So we met Marilyn and we had found our celebrant. Marilyn gave us all the info we needed and we put together a wonderful ceremony. Kim and I have two children each from previous relationships and we wanted to include our children in the wedding somehow so Marilyn put together a wonderful “Sand Ceremony” especially tailored for us. Each person had a different colour sand and we each took turns at pouring it into the special heart shaped vase we had. Each colour representing a variety of traits and values that each person brought to the relationship. As all our children are older or grown, this worked extremely well and the children really appreciated being included. Thank you Marilyn for making our day so special.

A Special Way to Honour Your Blended Family
The Family Unity Ceremony is a modified version of the Unity Sand Ceremony. This ceremony can include children and other members of your new blended family and creates a treasured Unity Vase filled with many colours. Family members can also recite special vows as part of the ceremony.

Unity Candle Ceremony
The Unity Candle ceremony symbolizes the joining of
two people and two families. The mothers of the couple light a candle,
which symbolizes the family of each, and the individuality of the bride
and groom.

At the end of the Wedding or Commitment ceremony the couple each take a flame from
their family name candle and bring the two flames together to light
their single union candle. This is candle of unity because the couple
must come together, giving a spark of themselves, to create a new light.
This Unity candle then becomes their Wedding or Commitment Anniversary candle, to
light this day every year, for the rest of their lives.

Cassie & Alejandro lit the central candle joining both their lives in conscious marraige symbolising the walking of the same path together.
