Dear Marilyn, We would like to write to you to say thank you very much for our wedding day on the 1st of October. The whole day went perfect and you made us feel comfortable. Thank you for suggesting that John kiss me as I get there it really did calm my nerves a little. You had so much advice to give, and one thing I am going to miss is our conversations on the phone. You were always professional but so easy to talk to at the same time; it was like having a conversation with someone I had known for years. So thank you for that.
The secret ritual was a hit we received so many compliments on that idea people were saying 'how cute' and 'what a beautiful idea' so thank you again. We were engaged for a year before deciding we would love to get married on the Gold Coast on a holiday we had booked from our home town of Perth. it was a bit nerve racking as it was only six weeks away and we were on the other side of the country, but we knew within a minute of speaking with Marilyn that she would do everything she could to assist us in making our day wonderful. Marilyn explained everything that was required simply and assisted with location suggestions for our desired garden wedding which was very helpful for non-locals. We decided on the beautiful Botanic Gardens in Benowa which created the perfect atmosphere for our relaxed wedding. Being quite shy people, we really appreciate the effort Marilyn went to create the perfect ceremony that was meaningful to us and kept us relaxed and able to enjoy the whole experience. When I first started the wedding plans I felt almost quite overwhelmed. But then I found Marilyn out of hundreds of others I chose her because of her unique Shell Ceremony. We wanted something a little different to the usual Sand Ceremony etc. Marilyn gave us loads of great information, resources and help. She placed our ceremony together so well including all the special people we wanted to join in. We based it on Marilyn's Thai Buddhist Ceremony because of my husband's background but made it "Ours" with loads of Marilyn's other inputs. The day was perfect and everything we wished for. When we met Marilyn we felt an instant trust and we were very comfortable in her presence.
Before our meeting we had mentioned we would like a Zen Buddhist Ceremony. The day of our meeting Marilyn presented us with the first draft of the wedding ceremony. She had thought of everything it was perfect and our plans all fell into place. We had planned a beach wedding but the weather forecast coming up to the day was not looking good discussing the prospect of facing rain on our day Marilyn gracefully offered her garden for our ceremony if the weather was not on our side.
Well the day arrived and it had rained for days and it did not let up for us. We were disappointed but accepting nature as it is we arrived at Marilyn's home to find she and her husband had set up her living room especially for our wedding ceremony with Buddhist style Bali Umbrellas and lanterns and a low Thai style table for the offerings, it was awesome!
